The Appendix before Easter

 The Appendix

We had a fun night at the Maynes house on friday the 22nd. Dinner, games and watching the kids fight and cry while we tried to socialize (this happens almost every weekend). As we left their place around 8 Evan said, "Oh I had one bite of desert too many" (He always thinks he had one bit to many of anything sweet, even though he usually only has one bite). So I thought he just had a stomach ache. After putting Josh to bed Evan kept getting worse and worse. He was rolling around all night. Throwing up at 2am, then sounding like a woman in labor at 4 am and finally giving in and saying take me to the hospital at 6 am. Our awesome friend Evan Applegate came over within 5 minutes. After 2 hours in the ER, a CT Scan and just enough morphine to keep Evan from moaning out loud, the nurse tells me out in the hall that it's his appendix and he's going in for surgery today.
(Above, left) before finding out it's his appendix, then (above, right) waiting for surgery
Can you believe they made him wear a hair net? He had just shaved his head super smooth. His facial hair was longer, so silly.
The surgeon said I wouldn't see Evan for 2 hours so I might as well wait at home and he'd (the surgeon) call when I could see him. I was glad to go be with Joshua. We'd only been away for 5 hours but I wanted to be with My miniture Evan.

2 hours later i got the call that he'd done great and he could come home. He was home by 2pm. A Short 8 hours from the ER to Surgery to his bed at home.

I think they let him out of the hospital too soon cuz we were back to the hospital that night (poor applegates bless their heart, Evan- our friend Evan, had to come over yet again for 3 hours) because Evan's stomach was bledding out of his bandaid (like blood coming out of the pore's of the whole bandaid) and his stomach got swollen fast. We finally got home at 2 am. They put coagulant and glue and a new better bandage on it. The next day was rough, The good medicine had warn off and Evan's tumy was purple and swollen. Poor guy. He hasn't been able to hold Josh all week or go swimming or Hot tubing. He's still done great with school dispite feeling "Doped" with medicine and being uncomfortable throughout school.

Monday Morning Evan couldn't miss out (Even though his teacher told him not to come) on his PT Lab on Pediatrics. All the students with students brought their children and babies in for their pediatric unit of Physical Therapy. Josh loved all the attention and felt more than at home with all his friends (Ethan 2 1/2, Kavik, 1 1/2, Owen 6 mon, McKenzie 5 mon, and Talon 4 mon) and lots of the adults in Evan's PT class (Josh plays with them on Volleyball or Basketball nights). He was making everyone laugh and smile the whole 2 hours. Evan's professors were getting a kick out of little Squash too.

Josh gets picky with clothes. Either stubborn keeping them on or stubborn putting them on. He loves this green shirt and wouldn't let me take it off for 2 days(Yeah i let him keep it on for PJ's, just one night)

After I got it washed a couple days latter, he wanted to wear it again (he'll see it in the pile and pull it out) he screamed for his hanging hat and tie. What a handsome goof!
We had a mock egg hunt at our apartments to see if Kavik, Josh and our ward friend Lexi would actually enjoy the big Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday. They all did great, until Josh realized there were treats in the eggs.
Saturday at MWU (Evan's School) was the Easter Party. There were tons of people and kids. 2 bounce houses a few Egg hunts and the easter bunny. We thought josh would love the bounce houses since we couldn't get him out at Halloween but he struggled for an hour until Kavik was in them. The only thing Josh wanted to do was stare at the Easter Bunny (which we thought he'd hate).
After the Easter Party, we got to watch our friend's baby Kenzie. Josh loves to help with bottles and binkies, and babies, He woke up from his nap, saw McKenzie and just held her tight in his lap fedding her a bottle (no that's obviously not the picture below).
This (Above) is our Easter table, The Eggs in Joshua's Bucket have nothing in them. We're not much for spending money, I only bought the Suit (Thanks Grandma Connie) and made the rest from things around the house. The Jelly beans were from Aunt Carrie, Thanks! and Grandma Rue sent sent us a fun Easter Package- Awh I forgot to put out his book, It was super cute!

Putting on Daddy's shoes is completely normal- At least today they matched his outfit.
